June: 10 months

June is 10 months old.

Seriously?! How did that happen??

Here she is (above) making her signature face :)

One big thing that happened this month..June learned how to sit up on her own. I've been waiting and waiting for her to do this. I felt like she was never going to figure it out. And then one day I went to get her out of her crib and I saw this..

I was so excited! For about a week, she would only do it in her crib or when I wasn't looking, little stinker! Now she does it all the time.

Another new trick-she learned how to kiss. It's the sweetest thing. She loves to kiss me, Paul, lambie.. all with her mouth wide open. She also loves it when Paul and I kiss each other.

And she LOVES Oscar. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to share the sentiment. He usually walks away when she starts to come towards him. However, this was one of the few times I've seen him play with her.

They have also figured out a new mealtime partnership.

June's getting really good at feeding herself. She can pick up the tiniest little pieces of food with her fingers. In fact, she prefers finger foods that she can feed herself to purees. She's also getting really good with the sippy cup.

We went to a lot of football games this month. June loves going to games because it's the one place she can yell as loud as she wants and no one minds. She also loves listening to the band. And we taught her to raise her arms up when we yell TOUCHDOWN!

June really likes music. I took her to a music class for babies and toddlers and she absolutely loved it! She was yelling, kicking her legs, and bouncing up and down throughout the whole class. It was so cute.

Here she is dancing to a song on Sesame Street.

A few weeks ago, we took a little road trip up to South Dakota for one of Paul's games. She did so good! I swear she does better when we're out and about than she does when we're at home and it's just me and her. When we're out, she is always such a little ham. She waves and "talks" to everyone she sees.

Mt. Rushmore

Life with June is never boring, that's for sure!

I feel so lucky to be her mama.

Happy 10 months, June Bug! Love you!

10 MONTH STATS:

weight: no idea! we don't have a scale at home

height: again, I have no clue

diapers: size 3

clothes: she can wear 9 month in tops, but needs 12 month in pants. She's tall!

eyes: blue

hair: blond and a little curly

nicknames: June Bug, Buggy, Stink Bug, Miss June, JLC, Monkey

June: 9 months

June is 9 months old!

She has now spent as much time outside of my belly as she did inside!

As you can see, this month she got her two top teeth. Ever since her teeth came in, this is her new favorite face to make! It's almost as if she wants everyone to see her new teeth.

June attended her first college football game this month. It was really hot, but June was a champ and we  stayed for the whole game. (we won by the way, which was awesome!)

June LOVES books! They are her favorite things to play with. She loves when we read to her and she can even turn the pages all by herself. I took her to story time for babies at our local library. When we sat down in the circle to listen to the story, June got so excited and started screaming at the top of her lungs. She was so loud that she scared two of the babies next to her and they started to cry. Oops :)

I say this every month, but June loves food. I mean, she really loves food. (I wonder who she gets that from ;) There is not one single thing that I have given her that she won't eat. She now recognizes the magic bullet that I make her food in and she screams when I get it out of the cabinet (are you noticing a them here? June is a screamer!).

She's also still nursing, taking two naps, and sleeping 12 hours at night.

June learned a few new tricks this month. She uses her index finger to point, takes turns/shares, and she can clap. She also discovered Oscar's water bowl.

And, she's not crawling yet. Instead, she prefers to roll everywhere.

You'd think she would get dizzy! She's crazy :)

I just can't believe how big she's getting. I feel like she changes every day!

Happy 9 Months, June Bug! Love you to pieces!

Halloween 2013

We had a really fun Halloween this year. It's funny how having a child makes everything more fun.

Well, maybe not everything :)

Before I was even pregnant with June, I used to daydream about celebrating holidays with my future children. I can't believe that those dreams are now my reality. Sometimes I still can't believe I'm a mom.  I feel like the luckiest person on the planet!

A few weeks ago I took June up to a pumpkin patch near Boulder. We met my mom and dad there (Paul had to work. boo). It was an absolutely gorgeous day!
In case you didn't know, when you have a 10 month old baby who can't walk yet, the pumpkin patch is more for the adults than it is for the baby. It's basically one never-ending photo op ;)

I think June could have cared less about the whole experience, but she did like the goats. My mom would feed them and June would pet their heads and then scream and kick her legs in delight.
She also cried when I made her stand next to the How Tall This Fall sign. She hates to stand. How is this girl ever going to walk?!

Here is how I decorated my pumpkins this year. I had a little too much fun with the paint. Thank you Pinterest for the great ideas!

And here is our little June Bug in her costume.

She actually didn't mind wearing her costume at all.

Paul and I took her to two houses for trick-or-treating and she burst into tears at both! It was so strange because she's never been scared of strangers. Poor thing.

When we got back I let her play with her bucket which had a few pieces of candy in it. She pulled out a  piece and was chewing on the wrapper. The next thing I knew she had bitten through the wrapper and eaten half of a Kit Kat bar! We were planning on waiting until her first birthday to give her any sweets...so much for that idea.

And because I love a year-to-year comparison pic...

Pretty amazing.

I hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

5 on Friday

I'm linking up with Darci and friends for 5 on Friday today. Here we go..

{ONE}
Sweater weather! It's finally cool enough (today) to wear long sleeves. I bought this sweater at Old Navy this summer on clearance and I've been waiting months to wear it.  Yay for Fall!

{TWO}
Speaking of Fall, I'm spending the day putting out all of my Fall/Halloween decorations today. This candle smells soooo good. I still need to get some pumpkins and mums for the front porch. I haven't decided how to decorate my pumpkins this year. There are so many cute ideas on pinterest!

{THREE}
I am obsessed with this salad dressing. I bought it on a whim at the store last week because it was on sale. I double heart love ranch dressing and put it on everything. This dressing has the same amount of calories and fat as light dressing, but tastes like the real thing. Yum!

{FOUR}
Lately I feel like my hair is really blah. I'm thinking about going darker..but I'm kind of scared. I died my hair brown one time in college and I hated it! We'll see if I actually pull the trigger.

{FIVE}
My new favorite afternoon nap time ritual is watching How I Met Your Mother on Netflix. I can't believe I've never watched this show until now! It's so funny-I find myself laughing out loud. The only problem is, I'm not getting anything else done during nap time!

HAPPY FRIDAY!

June: 8 months

June is 8 months old!

During this month's photo shoot, she was very interested in the blanket..

Silly girl! Paul likes to call her Curious George because she's so interested in EVERYTHING around her.

This month was another very busy one! We spent a weekend in Salida, CO for a wedding (June's first wedding)

And then June and I spent two weeks at The Turtle House with Hammy and Grits.

And on the way there, I swore off plane rides until she's 18. Thankfully, we had an empty seat next to us on the way home which made it a little easier.

first bike ride!

We had a lot of fun, but we missed Daddy :)

She is definitely a strong-willed girl! She gets really mad when she doesn't get her way or I tell her no. I have a feeling we are going to have our hands full when she hits the toddler years!

June is still a great sleeper (thank you god!). We finally transitioned her from the pack n' play to the crib and it really didn't phase her one bit. She also went from three naps to two and she sleeps about 11-12 hours at night. I am one lucky mama!!!

June continues to love any and all solid foods! There really hasn't been a single thing that she doesn't like. I wish nursing was that easy! It continues to be a struggle to keep her interested when there are distractions around and she HATES being covered up when we are in public (which is one of the reasons why our plane rides were SUPER fun :) She also bit me while nursing...ouch!!!

June learned how to wave hi this month, which of course we think is adorable! She will copy us when we wave, but she'll also wave when we just say the words hi and bye.

June is just so much fun! It's amazing to see her little mind at work. It seems like she changes a little every single day!

Happy 8 months June Bug! We love you!

8 MONTH STATS:

weight: 15 lbs. 1 oz. at her last check up
height: 26 3/4 inches, 90th % at her last check up

diapers: size 3

clothes: 6 month, 6-9 months, and 9 month

eyes: blue

hair: blondish

nicknames: June Bug, June Bugger, Stink Bug, Buggy, Miss June, JLC, Monkey, Punkin

are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!

I know I am!

I woke up so excited to watch College GameDay this morning.

We actually don't have a game this week. Our season opener isn't until next Saturday, which gives me one more week to prepare :)

I've been pinning football stuff like crazy. Here are some of my favorites:

How cute are these astro turf koozies? This website has a tutorial on how to make them yourself.

Along those same lines, I think this table cover is so clever! My tailgating is table is all scratched up. This would be a great way to cover it up. Much more festive than a boring old tablecloth!

And this little chain link garland would be so easy to make and it would really jazz up your tailgate or football party.

Now, Game Day wouldn't be Game Day (yes, I capitalize it, it's the same as a holiday in my eyes) without yummy football food!

I love this idea for seven layer dip as a football field. Why didn't I think of that?!

I love a good cheese ball. You could do this with your favorite recipe.

These strawberries would be a great treat to bring to a tailgate. And they're healthy because they're strawberries, right?

And of course, I wouldn't be a true football lovin' girl if I didn't talk about Game Day fashion.

I LOVE this dress. It looks cool and comfy; perfect for those hot mid-day games. Plus, it's CSU-P colors!

These jeans will be perfect for night games and the cool, fall weather that will be rolling in soon (please hurry, cool, fall weather! I don't know how much longer I can handle 95+ degree temps. Thanks.)

And this year, I have a little lady to dress up for Game Day. SO MUCH FUN!

I'm loving these customizable tees and dresses on Etsy.

Oh my goodness, the cuteness!!!

Well, there you have it, my favorite football-themed pins.

I hope you have a happy football season!

And I hope your team wins.

Unless you're playing my team, in which case I hope your team loses (sorry).

GO  T-WOLVES!!!

June: 7 months

June is 7 months old!

(and again, I am way late getting this up)

This month was busy, busy, busy! We were traveling for most of it. In fact, I just counted it up and we were only home for 8 days out of the month.

But June did great! She is so good at adjusting to new surroundings and just going with the flow. Of course, it didn't hurt that we were visiting Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles who spent the whole time loving on her. This girl loves being the center of attention!

A few exciting things happened this month.  First, at the very beginning of the month, June got her first tooth (bottom left)! And then a day later, her second tooth popped up (bottom right). She now has two little teeth. Yay!

Second, at the very end of the month, June learned how to sit up on her own when we sit her up. She seems so much happier now that she can sit up. She used to get so upset when we would put her down, because she liked to be up where she could see what was going on.

June also discovered shrieking this month. That made for some fun plane rides :) She is so verbal. She is constantly making noises and babbling. And if she's got something to say, you better listen! She'll get louder and louder until we give her our undivided attention.

June is still a great sleeper and she still loves food, however, she's not a very good nurser. She gets so distracted and wants to watch everything around her. I have to go to a quiet place with few distractions in order to nurse her and even then she has a hard time. She's also VERY squirmy still. I've never seen a baby move as much as she does. She never. sits. still.

A few fun firsts this month...

first 4th of July

fist time in the ocean (here with Aunt Sara)

first time on a boat (here with Mimi)

first time in a "big girl" high chair

It was another great month with our June Bug. We just love to watch her grow and learn each day. I am amazed at how fast the past 7.5 months have gone by. We just love our little girl!

7 MONTH STATS:

weight: 15 lbs. 1 oz. She only gained 2 lbs. in 2 months and she dropped from 50th % to 25th %.  I am now pumping after each feeding and in the middle of the night and giving her all the extra milk I pump each day. It's definitely a labor of love :) She's also getting 3 "solid" meals a day.

height: 26 3/4 inches, 90th %

diapers: size 3

clothes: 6 month, 6-9 months, and 9 month

eyes: blue

hair: blondish

nicknames: June Bug, Miss June, JLC, June Buggy, Stink Bug, Baby Bug, Love Bug, Monkey, Weasel
