5 on Friday

I realized that my last few posts have been June's monthly updates, so I decided I need to mix it up a bit. Today, I'm linking up with Carolina Charm for 5 on Friday-Five things I'm loving this Friday.
Here we go...

ONE- Today is Paul's last day of coaching high school camp for the summer! He has been working really late for the last two weeks so I feel like I've hardly seen him. Those two weeks were a real grind, but I'm so glad we got them over with and now we can enjoy the summer. Woohoo!

TWO- This salad. It's been so hot here lately. The state is literally on fire. I can't bring myself to make a dinner that involves turning on the oven. This pasta salad is my solution. I've made it once before and it was just as good as I remember. Perfect on a hot summer night! It was also perfect for this week because it has tomatoes in it..and Paul hates tomatoes..and Paul wasn't home for dinner this week (see above). That's the only plus of Paul working late-I get to make whatever I want for dinner!

THREE- Pool time with this little lady. She really loves the water. I even dunked her under a few times this week and she did great! It's so fun to see her kick and splash and squeal with excitement.

FOUR- These shorts from J. Crew (mine are hot pink). They are the perfect length and so comfy! Plus, I got them on sale which is an added bonus. I've already worn them a bunch this summer.

FIVE- Paul and I get to see these four friends next week! I have been counting down the weeks until this trip. I miss my besties! Spending time with them is good for my soul. Plus, it'll be June's first time on an airplane (I'm a little nervous about that ;)

HAPPY FRIDAY!

June: 5 months

Last week, JLC turned 5 months old.

Our little girl is growing too fast.

Time is passing too quickly.

SLOW DOWN!

This month, like the last four, was lots of fun.

June is such a good baby. She's very happy most of the time. But she's funny because she doesn't like to feel left out of anything. She likes to be sitting up (assisted) where she can see what's going on. This month she really found her voice and became VERY vocal-especially when other people are talking. It's like she wants in on the conversation. The more we try to talk over her, the louder she gets! I have a feeling we are in for it once she actually learns how to talk :)

She loves to explore everything around her and Paul and I love watching her little mind work. It seems like she really started noticing her surroundings this month. She is very interested in Oscar (our dog). When he gets close to her she smiles so big and reaches out to touch him.

This month she really mastered rolling from her tummy to her back, she does it constantly, but she still hasn't rolled from her back to her tummy. She's getting close, but her arm gets stuck :)

Another new thing this month: she's copying us. Paul sticks his tongue out at her and blows and she immediately tries to do it back to him. Pretty cute :)

June started pulling the bows off her head this month! Hopefully that's just a phase ;)

June had her first taste of solid food this month (18 weeks)! She started with rice cereal mixed with breast milk and then moved on to oatmeal, followed by pureed carrots. June LOVES her food. In fact, it's gotten to the point where I feel bad eating in front of her. She watches everything I put in my mouth and opens her mouth like a little baby bird and then chews.

June also had her first trip to the pool this month.

And she was baptized!!

It was wonderful month! Life with June is amazing. We are over the moon for our little girl!
