June: 12 months

JLC is one year old!

I seriously can't believe my baby is a year old. Where did the past year go?!

June is such a joy. She has a BIG personality and is so much fun. I have loved watching her grow this past year and I can't wait to see how she will continue to grow and change in the future.

This past month, June learned how to pull up on things...

She sprouted a new bottom tooth (she now has 7 teeth total)...

She signs the word "more" when she wants something...

She pretends to eat and drink with her tea set...

And she is a fabulous sleeper and eater (I completely weaned her from nursing two weeks after her birthday. Now she drinks all of her milk from a sippy cup! She sleeps 12 hours at night and takes two naps, 1-2 hours each, during the day).

A few words to describe June at one year:

LOUD,

OUTGOING,

STRONG-WILLED,

SPUNKY,

and OH SO SWEET!

Happy First Birthday, June Bug! We love you!!!

#katcreighphotoaday2014 Week 3

Day 15: I organized my new wrapping station. I seriously LOVE this thing!

Day 16: This is the first thing she does when she wakes up in the morning :)

Day 17: We had to take Oskie to the vet. June shared her snack with him while we waited.

Day 18: We had a family lunch date at Bee's! And someone at the restaurant called June Pebbles (from the Flintstones)

Day 19: I put the Valentine's Day decorations out. I made this chalkboard last week, but I still need to hang it!

Day 20: We shared a cookie. And I use the term "shared" loosely because I only got one bite :)

Day 21: There was no taming this hair today! I swear, her hair needs it's own blog haha!

#katcreighphotoaday2014 Week 2

Day 8: My tree was still up. I was having a hard time finding the motivation to take it down. But I'm happy to report it has since come down.  :)

Day 9: My parents had to put their dog down on this day, so I was giving my sweet pup some extra love. Poor guy never gets enough these days.

Day 10: June Bug's first pony tail!

Day 11: June and I drove to Boulder. We got stuck in some traffic, but even with red tail lights in front of me, this is still one of my most favorite views.

Day 12: These sweet little friends had a playdate. I wish they could play together more often!

Day 13: This girl was all tuckered out on our drive back down to Pueblo.

Day 14: We had a jammy day. We didn't even set one foot outside.

June's First Christmas

We had such a wonderful Christmas with our little June Bug! She's at such a fun age right now. We love to just watch her mind working while she explores everything. She was very intrigued with the Christmas decorations; especially the lights and the tree. However, she was NOT a fan of Santa. As we were walking towards him I could feel her gripping me with all of her might and the second I passed her to him, she freaked out! You can't really tell from this picture, but she was bawling. (I was actually kind of disappointed when I saw this pic because I was hoping it would convey her terror a little more. I'm a mean mommy, I know.)

Paul, June, and I had our own little Christmas in Pueblo on the morning of Christmas Eve.

We started with cinnamon roll casserole, which June loved (surprise, surprise!), followed by some present opening.

It took her FOREVER to open her presents. She would peel one tiny piece of paper off and just want to play with that piece. Paul ended up helping her with all of them.

After each present was opened, she just wanted to play with it and didn't care to open the others. Who knew we only needed to buy her one present. This girl is easy to please!

On Christmas Eve we drove up to Boulder to spend Christmas with my family.
June really loved this dolly from Hammy and Grits. She recently became interested in stuffed animals and dolls. It's so cute to watch her love on them!

Someone got a little tired. Opening presents is hard work!

The day after the Christmas, we packed up the car and drove to Nebraska to see Paul's family.

June had fun with her second cousins (oh man, I had to look that one up!), rode on a carousel with Mimi (another thing she did NOT like), and got some lovin' from her Grandpa and Aunt Kelley.

We had a great time visiting with Paul's aunts, uncles, and cousins. We wish we could do it more often!

And then, because we're crazy, we decided to drive down to Missouri. It was nice to spend a few quiet days down at the lake. And even though we drove 12 hours home in one day, June did so good (thank goodness for Finding Nemo on the iPad!) She is such a little trooper. We are so lucky :)

It truly was a wonderful Christmas. Our baby's first Christmas. One I will definitely remember forever.

#katcreighphotoaday2014 Week 1

One of my goals for 2014 is to take a picture every day. We are one week in and so far, I'm doing good. Ha!

I've been posting them on Instagram with the hashtag, #katcreighphotoaday2014, and then I will blog them week by week. I saw Shay do this last year and thought it was such a fun idea!

Day 1: We drove home from Missouri. This was my view for 12 hours.

Day 2: June Bug's Birthday! I can't believe my baby girl is a year old!

Day 3: Shopping for June's party. Nothing says "I mean business" like using a cart at the liquor store :)

Day 4: "It's my birthday party!!!"

Day 5: Post church brunch with my people.

Day 6: We watched the National Championship and JLC celebrated an Auburn touchdown. So sad they didn't win, but it was a great game. WDE!

Day 7: JLC had her one year photo session. She was a wild little banshee during the whole thing, so I'm wondering how the pictures turned out!

June: 11 months

HOLY COW, I've really been slacking on the blog lately! We've had a lot going on around here including Christmas and June's birthday! But, before I can do a 12 month update, I have to do the 11 month one. First things first ;) Good thing I've been keeping notes on my phone, otherwise I would never remember what happened when. So, without further ado...

JLC is 11 months old!

The most important thing that happened between 10 and 11 months was, June started crawling (finally!)
I had resigned myself to the fact that she would probably never crawl. I figured she would roll everywhere until she learned how to walk haha. And then one day, she just got on her hands and knees and started crawling around.

Yay June Bug!

June also learned how to blow kisses this month. She puts her hand up to her mouth and tries to make a kissing sound, "mmba."

She still LOVES books. She likes to crawl into her room, pull all of the books off the shelf and flip through the pages. Then when she sees me, she will hold one up towards me to get me to read it to her. Little book worm :)

June is still a little chow hound. She loves any and all food. We taught her to sign "more" when she wants more food. She basically spends the entire meal clapping her hands together and screaming until she gets more food on her tray. We are also teaching her the sign for "all done," but she never does that one because she never thinks she's all done!
She has also mastered the sippy cup.

June said her first word this month! Dog, which she pronounces, "Dg" or sometimes, "Dg Dg"
She says it when she sees Oscar, dogs on TV, stuffed animal dogs, etc.

We took her to the aquarium in Denver and they had an exhibit with a tiger. When she saw the tiger through the glass she said, "Dg Dg!" You can kind of see the tiger in the picture above.

June loves music and dancing. When she hears music, she bounces up and down and smiles from ear to ear. She loved playing with the piano at our friend, Joe's, house :)

JLC got two new top teeth this month. She's a little champ, and it didn't even seem to bother her. She now has 6 teeth total.

She also celebrated her first Thanksgiving. Both sets of Grandparents came to Pueblo and we all ate Thanksgiving dinner with the football team. June ate turkey, sweet potatoes, bread, stuffing, green beans and pumpkin pie. She loved every bite, of course!

It was another wonderful month with our June Bug!
